Teresa Whitlatch was born in Ironton, OH in the year 151. Her family relocated to Lancaster, OH shortly after and she has remained an Ohio Resident. Teresa’s mother Annette was an artist and at a young age Teresa would sit and paint and draw by her mother’s side. Teresa later went on to study art at Ohio University and portrait painting under artist Marvin Triguba.

Teresa went on to marry and have a child. All though most of her employment was not in the art field, she managed to introduce art into many of her positions. Teresa would later hold a management position at Art and Clay on Main. In this position she shared her knowledge with others by teaching classes and art camps during the summer.

Teresa is now retired and currently spends her time in her studio in Lancaster while continuing her education through art classes. She enjoys the work of many contemporary artists such as Gerda Lipsky and is constantly adapting and learning new techniques.

Teresa has always had a love of nature, history and fantasy. She tries to include this in her work using color, texture and the unexpected taking the viewer to a different place.
