M. Craig Miller is a Midwest stained glass artist living in Lancaster, Ohio.  His work has appeared in fine art galleries in Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania.  Born and raised in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, Miller’s father operated an anthracite coal delivery business that sparked Craig’s early interest in geology.  He developed a curiosity about stained glass while working as a professional geologist in West Virginia in the late 70’s and began working in that medium as a hobby.

Miller exclusively utilizes the stained glass construction technique developed and popularized by Louis Comfort Tiffany at the turn of the century, individually wrapping each glass piece with copper foil to serve as the anchoring material for the solder.  Marshall’s unique artistic style, with bold, flowing lead lines, is highly influenced by his educational background, often reflecting sedimentary bedding features and geologic structures such as faults and discontinuities.  In his abstracts, he frequently utilizes agates and glass nuggets to represent geologic layers, as their color and intricate banding complement the stained glass.

Miller creates his artwork in his studio on Scenic Drive in Lancaster, Ohio and sells pieces on his etsy website, Singular Art.   His art is currently on display in the Hayley Gallery in New Albany, Ohio, The Ohio Glass Museum in Lancaster and The Humble Crate Artisans Gallery in Pickerington.
